Class:
The Fine Art Print

The fine art is an extension of our photographic vision, it is as unique to the way that we see the world as our vision. No other presentation of our photography presents the same challenges, the same difficulty of production, or offers us the same rewards upon successful completion.

This presentation is designed to give you some tips on your approach to the complete process of creating a print. While it will include some discussion of workflow it is not intended to be a Lightroom or Photoshop tutorial on post processing.

CLASS:  Filter For Feeling -
How to use filters to create a specific look and feel to your images

From smooth and serene to rough and wild texture in a photograph can convene feeling and emotion that reflects the photographer’s response to the subject and surrounding. Using filters are the key to creating texture in landscape photography. It is more than simply screwing a filter in front of your lens, it is understanding the relationship between exposure time, subject movement, dynamic range and more. This means know which filter to use, how to control the exposure time through ISO, aperture, and filter selection. It also means knowing how long to too long and how short is too short. In this presentation landscape photographer John Gregor will discuss the nuances of using filters and how to integrate them into your camera workflow so you can use them effectively.

CLASS:  Going Mirrorless

As a professional landscape photographer the last thing John Gregor dreamed of doing was switching from a full-frame DSLR camera system to the smaller sized APS-C sensor. Gregor will discuss why he switched, his experiences in transitioning from a full-frame DSLR, and how he settled on the  Fujifilm X-T2,  APS-C X-trans sensor mirrorless camera system. He will show and discuss how his workflow has transitioned to the new system, and what he has liked and not liked about the new camera system. If you are considering a mirrorless system don't miss this informative presentation.
